Haul Out Assistance

By Mike Brown - Posted on 06 March 2010

Date Range:
Sun, 10/31/2010 - 10:00am - 4:00pm

The actual time of this event has not been finalized.  Check back here for details as the event draws closer.

The types of assistance that will be available includes help with lowering your mast, help with getting your sailboat on the trailer at the dock, handling of dock lines, use of the club power washer, and other things related to hauling in and putting away our sailboats for the season.

I suggest everyone plan to get their sailboat in early since the weather may turn cold and rainy again and one or more of these days could be cancelled.

We will be looking for volunteers to help with haul-out and mast lowering assistance.  Haul-out is an educational and fun activity where you can learn a lot about how sailboats are rigged in terms of both the standing and running rigging.  It is also a great place to make friends since people are generally very appreciative of help.  If you can help please let Dave Stadler or me know once you see the announcement indicating the time period when assistance will be available for a specific day or days.

Most people only need a small amount of assistance like help with lowering their mast at a critical time or just holding a dock line when hauling in.  Others may need more assistance however.  If you anticipate needing more assistance than others, please let me know the type of assistance you require in advance so we can coordinate help for you.

The club power washer will be available for both days unless there is a cancellation for weather.
