Earth day is upon us and its time to volunteer some time at the Park.(As
our commodore mentioned earlier)

Nockamixon Sail Club has been volunteering at the Park since 2000 and even
before the Earthday was celebrated at the park!
Please register with the Park Earthday registration if you can and let them
know you are with the Sail Club.
You can help with some shoreline maintenance and or help with some of
the other projects the park has planned.
If you can some simple gardening tools they would be useful IE:
loppers, or general pruning tools, rakes, or even some digging tools or pick
axes or other tools to dig up the Multiflora rose , the invasive thorny bushes
every where.
Wear old clothes, strong shoes I have some spare new work gloves but
bring a pair if you can.
No power equipment required this year just man power!
We look forward to seeing you there come for as long or as little as you
can. Be sure I get you name so I can give a list to the park later. A
big turn out would be great!
thank you
SEE YOU THERE!

If you wondered how this got started........
Our first major project was clearing a path to the lake from Launch ramp
parking lot. Proir to that you could not see the lake from where we put the
tents up! look at the difference now! We started with a 30 foot wide swath
and expanded it every year into the lovely shady spot with view all the way up
the lake!
Why did I get this started? Many reasons but the whole shoreline use
to be a wonderful grassy edge to the lake and in the early days of the Club (so
Crag Tourtellott told me) sailors used to run into the shore there to have lunch
between races! What fun that would be!
from the park web site
Come help the park clean-up for Earth Day. We have a variety of
projects we need help accomplishing to get us ready for the summer. Some of the
projects are tree planting, gardening and mulching. Please pre-register so we
know how many will be helping us. We'll be meeting at the Marina and then
leaving to go to different parts of the park to work on our projects. Please
bring work gloves and wear old clothes.
